A year after
the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game entered the
market in 1974, its publisher, TSR, began to
publish a "house organ" known as The Strategic Review.
This was a small newssheet dedicated to advertise and
supplement TSR products, which also included miniature
wargames. A gentleman named Tim Kask took over as
Periodicals Editor and in 1975 expanded Strategic Review
into a small magazine.1
That
periodical was replaced in 1976 with two separate titles:
The Dragon was aimed at role-playing gamers, and
Little Wars was created to cater to miniature wargamers.
Little Wars magazine ran from 1976 to 1978 and ceased
publication with Issue 12. Contents of issue 13 were
run as part of The Dragon's issue no 22.2 |
