Panzerschreck Magazine was
founded in 1998, publishing two issues per year. The
magazine is edited by Gary Graber under the Minden Games
imprint, and includes small "micro-games" in each issue. In
2007, Minden Games also started publication of Panzer
Digest, a similar venture.
Minden has also produced a
number of small games in zip-loc format, and perhaps of most
significance to tactical level gamers, produced the "Retro"
rules which provide a less complex alternative for owners of
the Advanced Squad Leader system/components, which
has received favourable notice.
Quick Armor Rules, a
simple set of miniatures rules, were introduced in
Panzerschreck Issue 11.
Like many small publishing
enterprises, the publishing schedule of Panzerschreck
and Panzer Digest fell off. Panzerschreck went
to a more conventional layout and design scheme with issue
14 in the summer of 2005, which lasted one more issue a year
later. In the Spring of 2014, Issue 16 of Panzerschreck,
with a cover once again reminiscent of the older digest
format was released as a free online download, with the
usually included game available for separate purchase.
A Winter 2024 issue has materialized after a three year
absence of new publications, in both printed and digital
form.
